Work in Germany: Indian engineers and students required

Work in Germany: Indian engineers and students required:

Work in Germany: Indian engineers and students required

Facing acute shortage of skilled labour because of an ageing workforce, Germany is looking to attract skilled talent from India.
Sectors hiring

It is estimated that Germany will need at least 40,000 skilled employees mainly to fill up positions in engineering and manufacturing sectors.
Other than these two, which are the mainstays of German economy, there is a need for manpower in industries such as finance, insurance, information technology, entertainment, publication and emerging sectors such as hospitality.
German companies are initially looking to hire talent in the local markets from subsidiaries and then relocate them to Germany in due course of time.
Wanted: Indian graduates from German universities
Companies prefer to hire students who have done their higher studies in Germany because they are more attuned to the language, culture and economy.
German universities are also attracting Indian students for research-based or doctoral studies as their fees are much lower than other countries.
Job portal for alumni
If you have studied, conducted research, worked or received training in Germany or at a German institute abroad, you can register yourself on Alumniportal Deutschland; an online community which encourages discussions and also acts like a job portal for vacancies in Germany and German companies.

12 things you should know about IELTS:

12 things you should know about IELTS

Students from India will need to sit for IELTS if they want to study in countries such as Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand and the United Kingdom among others.

#READ: More on Study Abroad

Let us look at a few facts about IELTS:

#1 IELTS stands for International English Language Testing System

#2 IELTS is the world’s proven test and its score is accepted by more than 8,000 organizations in over 135 countries.

#3 The exam is co-managed by The University of Cambridge, The British Council, and IDP Education Australia.

#4 This test has four sections: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking.

#5 There are two types of IELTS: The General IELTS and the Academic IELTS .

#6 The General IELTS is for the students who wish to migrate to an English speaking country for work or training reasons.

#7 The Academic IELTS is for students, who wish to study in an English speaking country,
# 8 The Listening and Speaking sections are the same in both exams, but the Writing and Reading sections differ.
#9 The duration of IELTS is of 2 hours and 44 minutes. This includes:

- 30 minutes for the Listening section
- 60 minutes that last the Reading section
- 60 minutes to write the texts of the Writing section and
- Between 11-14 minutes to answer the three parts of the Speaking section

#RECOMMENDED: Articles on IELTS

#10 The speaking module is a key component of IELTS. It is conducted in the form of a one-to-one interview with an examiner.

The examiner assesses the candidate as he or she is speaking, but the speaking session is also recorded for monitoring.

#11 Test takers are graded and placed on a scale from 1 (Non User) to 9 (Expert User) — most university requirements fall between 5.5 and 7.0 of the academic strand.

#12 The test is taken every year in 500 locations across 121 countries, and is one of the fastest growing English language tests in the world.

IIT-JEE 2014: 5 smart strategies for serious students

IIT-JEE 2014: 5 smart strategies for serious students:

IIT-JEE 2014: 5 smart strategies for serious students

What do you need to do to score well for IIT-JEE? How many questions do you attempt every day? This article is for students who are serious about JEE and getting into the IITs. ------------------------------ APPROACH TO JEE ------------------------------ You will need to spend around three or four years practicing for JEE if you want to do well. JEE is only for students who have numerical aptitude and their skills and interests are towards engineering. Do not attempt JEE if that is what your parents, family or friends put pressure on you and your Maths is weak. #MUST READ: IIT-JEE 2014: Recommended reference books ------------------------------ STRATEGY FOR SERIOUS STUDENTS ------------------------------ Remember that JEE is more analytical than what you are used to. You need to make sure that you score well for your Class 11 as well as your Class 12 board exams. You need to be mentally prepared. 1. Solve between 60-80 questions from the day you start preparing This number includes all sections - Set realistic targets and plan the next day’s work in advance - If you can do 100 problems, don’t set the target to 150 2. Set a time limit when you attempt questions Speed is important in doing well in JEE. Make sure your score improves with time 3. Solve past year papers for at least 10 years Do this in addition to the 60-80 questions that you have done for each day. - Look for changes in the number of questions from areas and the pattern 4. Find short-cuts You will find shorter ways of solving problems using logic as you solve more problems - Develop a separate technique to handle all three subjects - Spend more time on subjects that you are not that strong in 5. Keep up to date with changes for JEE (Mains) and Advanced It’s important that you keep up to date with any changes. Your board exam is now important for JEE. Only students who are in the top 20 percentile of their boards qualify for JEE (Advanced).
