IIT-B has collaborated with Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Harvard to launch Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs).

 IIT Bombay has developed and deployed training programs, engaging thousands of participants at a time using Information and Communication Technologies.

 The project aims to understand and solve issues in scaling up quality education using technology.

IIT Bombay has a total of 14 academic departments, six centres, one school, and three interdisciplinary programmes.  It is recognised worldwide as a leader in the field of engineering education and research.

 It is reputed for the quality of its faculty and the outstanding calibre of students graduating from its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

Around 39,000 engineers and scientists have graduated from the institute.
