Engineering graduates prefer to study abroad IIT admissions 2013:
This year a trend has been noticed that students have skipped IIT counselling and have opted to study abroad or at renowned institutes.
The students have skipped the counselling as they have got an opportunity to study abroad as well as have got their preferred subject.
About 96 students did not attend the IIT-Kharagpur admission counselling this year.
IIT Kharagpur has a total of 1341 undergraduate seats.
Computer science engineering and electrical engineering are some of the subjects which have emerged as most popular.
The second round of admissions began on July 10.
Candidates from Andhra Pradesh need to score 91.8% in their state board examinations to get the admission to the IITs as well as clear the IIT- JEE ( Mains and Advanced).
